English Language Arts with Mr. Ritchel

Welcome to 9th Grade English Language Arts with Mr. Ritchel!

I'm excited that you are a part of our class. Throughout the course of the school year we will develop our reading, writing, listening, speaking, and critical thinking skills in the effort to address the ways in which we communicate. This website will serve as your online resource for what we do in class. Please keep scrolling to learn more about our class and me.

Watch Mr. Ritchel rap at a staff meeting!

Hi!

I'm Mr. Sean Ritchel and this is my second year teaching English at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School. My favorite thing about teaching is connecting with students and watching them grow into academically minded young adults. That being said, my goal for our school year is to help students develop character and skills necessary for professionalism in the 21st century.

While originally from Indiana I've lived in New Mexico most of my life. I went to Cleveland Middle School, Del Norte High School, and earned my B.A. in Interpersonal Communication at the University of New Mexico. I firmly believe receiving a quality education is among the most important actions we can take, and I live by the classic mantra, "Knowledge is power."

When I'm not teaching I love to rap, read, and run.

Me on a very sunny, cheesy day.
