Assignments

  • Finishing Assignments Early: If you finish and submit an assignment early you may read or work on assignments from other classes. Please keep the productivity flowing!
  • Making Up Assignments: Go to the "Assignments" page on our Google Classroom website. Locate the date(s) you were absent and what was assigned. Important: Please remind yourself to do this as you will not be reminded.

Attention Signals

  • Getting Teacher's Attention: If you need my attention please raise your hand, and I will acknowledge you as soon as possible.
  • Refocusing Class: When I need everyone's attention I will count down from 5 to 1. By the time I count to 1 the whole class should be silent.
  • Class Discussions: When contributing to class discussions please raise your hand to be called on.

Drills

  • Fire Drills, Lockdown Drills, and Assemblies: In the event of a fire drill, lockdown drill, or assembly we will quietly line up at the door and walk to our destination point together as a class.

Food and Drink

  • Food and Drink are permitted, so long as these two expectations are met: 1. Your area remains spotless at all times, and you throw away all trash at an appropriate time. 2. It does not distract your peers.

Grades

  • Updated grades will be posted in the classroom every two weeks. You may check your grade at the end of class, or when instruction is not taking place.
  • You are strongly encouraged to check your grade regularly via your APS online student account (my.aps.synergy.edu). Grades on Synergy are updated instantly.

Group Work

  • On days we engage in group work you will be assigned to one of three groups: your "Day One" group, a new group, or a group of your choice. I will inform you which group you are to be in on that day.

Interruptions

  • During interruptions (including intercom interruptions and class visitors) you are to remain seated, quiet, and working.
  • Daily Announcements (for 5th period): During daily announcements you are to be in your seat and quiet.

Starting/Ending Class

One student may use the bathroom at a time, and only with my permission. Important: If you need to use the bathroom during instruction raise your pinky and wait until you are acknowledged to leave.
  • Counselor/Nurse Pass: You must have your student ID in order to visit the counselor and/or nurse. Please wait until an appropriate time to ask me if you can go (i.e. not during instruction).
  • Locker/Vending Machine Pass: There will be no locker and/or vending machine passes as these place should be visited during passing period.

Tardy Policy

  • If you arrive to class late you must provide a teacher signed pass. Place the pass on my table upon arriving then sit in your assigned seat and get in the zone. If you arrive to class more than 5 minutes late without a pass you must report to the office.
