Welcome to Ms. De Armond's Gifted and Beast Math Classes.
This is my twenty-first year teaching at Alvarado Elementary. I have been teaching the gifted program for eight years.
I look forward to working with new 4th graders and returning 5th graders!
Language Arts
Through differentiated activities in fiction, non-fiction and poetry studies, students will make deep and complex connections with the text.
Students will build vocabulary skills through the study of Greek and Latin roots, creative 'play' and use of the words.
Beast Academy Math
"Students learn problem-solving skills through rigorous math lessons taught by engaging, comic-book style characters."

Critical Thinking and Creativity
Students will have opportunities to explore their own learning styles, create independent projects based on their interest areas and work through critical thinking and problem solving activities.
Gifted Strands
All classes will focus on these gifted strands throughout the school year.
