In our Kindergarten/First Grade classroom, both grade levels follow the same curriculum, which allows us to learn, explore, and grow together as a classroom community! While we may be learning about the same topics and using many of the same materials and activities, Kindergarten and first grade have different grade-level standards and learning expectations.
Students may participate in the same lesson, story, project, or classroom activity, but the expectations will be adjusted to meet the needs of each grade level. This allows Kindergarten students to build foundational skills while first grade students continue to develop and apply those skills at a deeper level.
My goal is to create a classroom where students can learn from one another, work together, and be appropriately challenged every day!
