Mrs. V's Class Website

I will send monthly newsletters to keep you informed about the standards, activities, and events that are happening in our classroom and school. My main form of communication will be through the Class Dojo and email. My email address is carrieann.villalobos@aps.edu . I will try to respond to messages within 24 hours during the school week. I do try to take the weekends off so I try not to respond to messages on the weekends/breaks.

Students are expected to keep a folder that will be sent home daily and should be emptied and returned on a daily basis. In this folder you will find a completed work and any communication from the school. I check folders every day so you can also write notes to me and stick it in your child’s folder. Your child’s folder is also where you will return any forms or money.

We also have two scheduled parent teacher conferences during the school year (October and March). I will send sign up sheets for you to schedule a time that works best for your schedule. This is a great time for me to brag on your child’s school accomplishments and allow them the opportunity to share their progress with you.

Fun in the Classroom

STUDENT OF THE WEEK- Starting in September, a student will have the opportunity to be our student of the week. When it is your child’s turn, I will send home an email and a letter giving you instructions on what to send in the Thursday before. They will create a poster in class and it will be put on display in our room all week. Your child will share the poster.

BIRTHDAYS- We love celebrating birthdays! Your child is welcome to bring in a treat for his/her birthday to share with the class. Please let me know in advance that you are planning to do this. The best classroom treats include mini cupcakes, cookies, rice crispy treats, and donuts. It is best not to sent anything that we need to cut or use utensils with. If you are sending birthday invitations through the class, please make sure to invite the entire class.

FIELD TRIPS- Field trips are a fun time for students to explore their community. APS does not fund these trips; therefore, the cost of the bus will be included with any field trip fees. Please fill out permission slips completely (front and back). Payments for field trips will be through school pay.

BOOK ORDERS- Book orders will come home once a month from Scholastic. This is a great way to purchase books inexpensively, while helping our class earn points towards other items. Class orders are due by the 15th of each month. You can pay online with your credit card by going to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs and entering a parent order using the class activation code: 32CCGH

CLASS WISHLIST- Every year I have wonderful parents who ask if they can donate anything to our class. I have set up an Amazon Wishlist containing some necessities as well as some fun stuff for our class.

I love parents to help in our class. I will be starting to accept volunteers in the classroom soon.

In order to a background check must be submitted through APS. You can now fill out the volunteering information online! Just go to Volunteer with APS and you will find all the information needed! Thanks to all that make HHH such a great school!

Please remember when on campus to always check in at the front office and get your visitors pass before you come to the class.

We will be asking for a $15.00 for Schoolastic News Magazine and various class projects. Once that link has been set up, I will email it out to everyone.
