Our classroom is built on the belief that all students can learn, grow, and succeed. We focus on building strong academic skills while also helping students develop confidence, responsibility, perseverance, and kindness.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes, collaborate with others, and take ownership of their learning. We celebrate growth and effort while working toward high expectations for every student.
Students learn through a variety of instructional practices throughout the day, including:

Students receive targeted support and instruction based on their individual needs.
🤝 Collaborative Learning
Students work together to discuss ideas, solve problems, and learn from one another.
➗ Number Talks & Problem Solving
Students explain their mathematical thinking and develop flexible problem-solving strategies.
💻 Technology Integration
Students use educational programs such as iReady, Amira, Boddle, and Epic to strengthen skills and build independence.
🌱 Growth Mindset
Students learn that mistakes are an important part of learning and that effort helps us grow.
By the end of third grade, students should be able to:
✏️ Write a complete paragraph of at least five sentences using correct capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and legible handwriting.
📖 Write a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
📝 Revise and edit their writing to improve clarity and correctness.
📚 Read grade-level text with fluency, accuracy, and understanding.
➗ Recall multiplication facts through 12 × 12.
➕ Demonstrate understanding of basic division facts through 12.
🔢 Understand place value through 1,000 and use place value to solve problems.
🍕 Identify fractions, understand fraction vocabulary, compare fractions, and recognize equivalent fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8.
🔬 Ask questions, make observations, and apply scientific thinking to investigate the world around them.
🌎 Develop an understanding of communities, geography, history, and responsible citizenship.
