About the Teacher
I grew up here in Albuquerque. I attended AHS and went on to attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from NAU. In 2021, I earned my master's degree in Pedagogy and Learning from ENMU. I have a Level 3 teaching license with endorsements in TESOL and reading.
I have been teaching for 10 years. This is my first year teaching at Mission Avenue. Prior to becoming the reading interventionist here, I taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd/3rd combo classes.
I have always been passionate about teaching reading and writing, and after completing my LETRs training through the district, I have become an even stronger advocate for structured literacy practices that support all students.
My husband Brad is also a teacher. He teaches science at the high school level.
We have a very cute, very friendly daughter, Abby, who was born in October of 2023.
In our free time, we enjoy hiking as a family, and going out to eat at restaurants around town.
