NOTE TO PARENTS & STUDENTS:

Welcome to our class!  My name is Lori McGaha.  I've been teaching for over 23 years and I love my job!  I am a Nationally Board Certified Middle School Math teacher and highly endorsed in Social Studies.  I was hired at Desert Ridge 3 days before the schools were shut down due to the Corona Virus health pandemic in 2019. I am excited for a 'normal' 2022-23!  I will do my best to make education engaging, encouraging, and enlightening.  I hope you will too.  I am so glad that you're in our class!  Each one of you is very important to me and I want to encourage you that we will have an amazing year!

Can everyone solve math problems? You might think that's a weird question, but I've heard lots of students say they just aren't good at Math.  Of course, there are others who seem to catch on before I've even finished explaining the concept.  There is no doubt that we are all different, but the answer to the question is absolutely yes!!!  My goal is to present the Math concepts in a way that everyone can learn and enjoy.  I will use multiple strategies and it will require practice, but we are going to rock at Math this year!
