I am Mrs. Kittleson and I teach fifth grade here at John Baker Elementary.  Over the last 19 years, I have taught a variety of grade levels ranging from 2nd to 4th to 5th. I am a highly qualified, National Board Certified Teacher and have an endorsement to teach English Language Learners. I received my Elementary Education Teaching degree from UNM, with an endorsement in Social Studies. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering respect, celebrating individual achievements, cultivating a strong work ethic, and maintaining a disciplined yet supportive environment. I strive to create a classroom where my students are encouraged to reach their full potential and develop a genuine love for learning. I want my students to recognize and appreciate the inherent equality in everyone, valuing each person’s unique qualities and contributions.

In my personal life, I’m surrounded by a loving husband and two energetic—though occasionally mischievous—dogs. Five of our six grown children have all ventured beyond New Mexico, but we make it a point to visit them in the wonderful places they now call home. I love traveling to explore new cultures and diverse cuisines. I consider myself a true foodie and cooking is a favorite hobby of mine. Though my recent discovery of multiple food intolerances has added an exciting twist to my culinary explorations.

I look forward to a fabulous and productive year filled with lasting memories!
