Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Overview
NJROTC is a leadership program designed to give students a head start. NJROTC is designed to help students develop the self-discipline, self-confidence, and leadership skills to successfully meet life’s challenges. People who are successful in life; who succeed in business, industry, and education, have developed strong self-discipline, the ability to show initiative, and the ability to motivate. The NJROTC program is NOT a military recruiting tool. The NJROTC curriculum and instructional activities are designed to develop leadership skills regardless of a student’s future career path. The NJROTC program has the following objectives:
Promote patriotism.
Develop informed and responsible citizens.
Promote habits of orderliness and precision and to develop respect for constituted authority.
Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership.
Promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements of national security.
