Procedures

Agenda Use: Students are required to use their student agenda daily to record the class topic and the synchronous learning assignments. This will help students remain organized and could be used as a method of communication with parent(s) and/or guardian(s)

MidSchoolMath: Students will complete components in MidSchoolMath and submit their work for review. Several lessons may involve guided review with the teacher to help students know what is expected. Students will receive credit based on the completion of their work. Deductions will be taken when work is submitted late. Work that is finalized on the first submission will receive full credit. Second submissions will receive 90%, third submissions will receive 80%, fourth submissions will receive 70%.

Late submissions: a deduction of 10% per day will be taken for work that is submitted after the due date.

  • i-Ready Lessons: Students will complete i-Ready lesson each week during the beginning of class. Students will receive points for completion of a lesson. Completion is dependent on working until a score is posted for the lesson.

All assignments must include the following:

  • Students must use correct writing conventions when providing written responses. Correct usage of capitalization and punctuation is required.

  • Students must show the work necessary to find the solution. The work must be typed into in the response box as the evidence needed to prove understanding.

  • Student work must fully answer the question, show the solution, and include appropriate units to earn full credit.

FACT RECALL

Multiplication Fact Recall: Students should know their multiplication facts through 12 by 12. Students should also know the following facts for ease of calculation:

13 X 13 = 169; 14 X 14 = 196; 15 X 15 = 225

Regular multiplication fact quizzes will be administered throughout the school year.

Rules of Divisibility: Students should review and practice using the patterns for the rules of divisibility to help them with calculations involving division (regrouping). This will help students with factoring ratios, expressions, and equations as they progress through subsequent math courses.

Regular rules of divisibility (ROD) quizzes will be administered throughout the school year.

Pattern recognition is an important skill which requires academic practice in order to achieve mastery.
