Coach Ross Thurik is originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon, and relocated to Albuquerque in 2005. He began playing golf at the age of nine and developed a strong competitive foundation throughout his high school and collegiate golf career. Over the years, he has achieved numerous accomplishments, including earning his PGA Professional status in 1986 after successfully completing qualifying school.
Coach Thurik brings more than 19 years of experience within the PGA, serving in leadership roles such as General Manager/Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Assistant Professional. During his professional playing career, he also competed on the Ben Hogan Tour and the Nike Tour.
Most recently, Coach Thurik served as the Valley Golf Head Coach for the 2024–2025 season and is now the Head Coach of the Eldorado Boys and Girls Golf programs for the 2025-2026 season. He is passionate about coaching, teaching, and continuing to develop the Eldorado Golf program now and in the years ahead.
