A little about me...

My name is Christina Williams, but my friends call me Chris. I prefer to be Ms. Chris to my student friends because it sounds funny!

I have been teaching in the North Valley for over ten years and I am a Level II teacher working on National Board Certification in Literacy.  Born and raised in New Mexico, I graduated from Valley High School, received a B.A. in Anthropology from UNM, and completed my teaching education through NACA/CNM alternative program. I even went to Alameda as a kid myself, yep, it's true. I have the yearbook photos to prove it!

I grew up just down the street from our school: playing under cottonwood trees, collecting toads, and digging in the dirt of the Rio Grande. Outside of school, I love to read, hike, and visit museums. I recently began rock climbing to overcome my fear of heights and I love to bike our wonderful bosque trails.

I believe social and emotional health is essential to academic success. Positive interactions among students and effective communication in sharing our feelings and needs is a vital lifeskill.  With my students, I strive to create a safe space for all kids to learn and grow, and STAY CURIOUS!

Our hands are for working and helping.

Our words are kind and true.

If you see or feel something, say something.
