Ceramics I-IV are classes designed to teach the students how to make artworks with clay as a medium. As the class number increases the tasks asked of students and the quality of work will become more rigorous and higher expectations will be in place.
Ceramics I - An intro to working with clay and making clay forms. Student will learn various methods and techniques including the throwing wheel
Ceramics II- A more advanced class where bigger projects and more detail oriented projects that are more open ended will be assigned. Student will learn how to advance their techniques and methods learned in Ceramics I
Ceramics III- A very rigorous course where students are driven by their own project ideas. Students will come up with a concentration and will make works that fall into that concentration and will work on building a portfolio and learning advanced techniques
Ceramics IV- A very limited class that will focus on Advance Placement practices, students in this class will be asked and pushed to take the AP Portfolio for Ceramics.
