Sample site

This is a sample website built using Google Sites.

Google Sites is available to all Appalachian State University students, faculty and staff.

Is Google Sites the right tool for you?

Appalachian offers several tools for faculty, staff, and students who would like to create websites:

  • Google Sites can be used for faculty and staff personal websites, committee sites, special projects and initiatives. It is a good tool for posting internal documentation, since there is an option to limit site access to users at Appalachian State. It is also the best tool for hosting websites that may be edited by both on- and off-campus users, such as academic conference sites with organizers at multiple institutions, since editing access can be shared with users outside the institution.

  • Drupal is used for the official websites for academic departments and administrative divisions. Contact Web Services for assistance.

  • Engage is used by programs, units, and student clubs in the Division of Student Development. See https://appsync.appstate.edu for more information.

  • AsULearn is used for web-based instructional media and course websites. See the AsULearn Support site for more information.

  • Qualtrics is a research suite for online surveys. See the ITS Service Catalog for more information.

  • Aportfolio is a tool for building digital portfolios. See the Aportfolio site for more information.
