Grouping Texts for Instruction

The slideshows below highlights texts that can be grouped together by a common theme or topic. Grouping and pairing texts allows for students to read across texts that work alongside each other in order to allow students to widen their perspective of a certain topic or idea. Grouping texts provides a way for students to step out of thinking about a certain topic or idea in a narrow way and, instead, look to the multifaceted nature of them. Each text builds on the other and creates opportunities for discussion and new ways of thinking.
