You meet or almost meet all of these criteria.

You consistently show meaningful progress on any criteria you don’t fully meet. 

• All written homework assignments (read and reflect, project analyses, and journals) are submitted on time. 

• Written homework assignments are completed thoughtfully with attention to detail.

• You submit timely, thoughtful, and thorough self-assessments (both for projects and for grade claims) 

• You complete all rehearsal hours with thoughtful attention to detail, curiosity, play, and a willingness to grow as an actor. 

• You lead a thoughtful warm-up that is well, planned, and executed. 

• You complete all performance projects with thoughtful attention to detail, curiosity, play, and a willingness to grow as an actor. 

• You are fully memorized and rehearsed for your performance project.

• You demonstrate growth in each showing of a project over the “life-span” of that project. 

• You consistently and actively participate in class with a spirit of curiosity (This does not mean you have to love the task, you are simply asking “how can I grow from this?”)

• You honor the community norms and respect your peers and instructor.

• You are appropriately dressed, physically present, and engaged in class.

• You have completed the assignment for the day and are prepared for in class discussions and/ activities. 

• You are early to class and ready when class begins at 2:00pm, having taken care of all personal needs. 

• You do not exceed the allotted 3 absences. 

• You offer constructive and supportive feedback to peers without trying to direct them.

You meet most ( at least 11 of the 13) criteria above. 

You show progress on some criteria which you don’t fully meet.

• All written assignments are mostly thoughtful and thorough. Occasionally they are rushed and/or lack detail. 

• One of the following is true: 

  • You lead a warmup that is either not entirely well-planned or not well executed. 

  • You are not fully and thoroughly memorized for your performance which limits your growth on the project

  • You make some attempts to evolve your projects do not rehearse enough and the project can’t evolve

  • You do not add enough detail to your written analysis and your lack of understanding of the character and play limits your growth on the project.  

  • You do not work on or implement the feedback from class to evolve your project. 

• You might meet the criteria of “A” often, but not always. You might meet all criteria but are missing one. 

• You might miss more than three classes or are frequently late, or leave class often and this limits your ability to participate, engage, and contribute in class.

You do not quite meet the *A* criteria 

There is little attempt or very inconsistent effort to show progress on the criteria which you do not meet.

• All written assignments are mostly complete, but they lack thought and attention to detail OR you are missing at least three assignments OR you regularly turn in incomplete assignments. 

• More than one of the following is true: 

  • You lead a warm up that is barely planned and/or very sloppily executed, you might have even made it up on your walk to class.

  • You are not fully and thoroughly memorized for your performance which limits your growth on the project

  • You make some attempts to evolve your projects do not rehearse enough and the project can’t evolve

  • You do not add enough detail to your written analysis and your lack of understanding of the character and play limits your growth on the project. 

  • You do not work on or implement the feedback from class to evolve your project. 

  • You show little interest in developing your project. 

• You might meet a few *A* criteria but you are missing or struggling with the rest. 

• You might come close to meeting the *B* criteria, but you are not quite there. 

• You might be missing a major Written Analysis assignment or several Homework reflection assignments. 

• You might have missed more than four classes, or regularly late, or leave class

Very minimally meets requirements. 

There is little effort or very inconsistent effort to show progress on the criteria which you do not meet.

More than one of the following are true: 

• You meet 6-7 of the criteria for an *A*

• You had significant attendance issues and/or late arrivals, or leaving class very frequently. 

• You are missing a number of significant assignments or a performance project. 

• You are consistently unable to engage, participate, and contribute in class. 

• You make little effort to meet the criteria of your performance projects.

Really does not meet requirements 

There is no effort to improve.

• You have missed 8 classes or have enough late arrivals to constitute 8 absences. 

More than three of these are true: 

• You meet 6-7 of the criteria for an *A*

• You had significant attendance issues and/or late arrivals, or leaving class very frequently. 

• You are missing a number of significant assignments or a performance project. 

• You are consistently unable to engage, participate, and contribute in class. 

• You make no effort to meet the criteria of your performance projects.
