Volunteer FAQ

Q: Do I get paid to work at Beans 2 Brew? 

• All of our workers are technically volunteers, but for every shift you work your wage will be donated to the Beans 2 Brew club partner of your choice. You will be asked to pick the club each time you sign up for a volunteer shift on the scheduling document. If you don’t have a club in mind please select the “B2B” option instead. 

  • Current Partnerships include: 

    • SHRM, BAP, ASCC, B2B, ASE, Enactus, PSE, and more. 

Q: Can I do homework during my volunteer shift? 

• If all customers have been addressed, supplies are restocked, and the area is clean - feel free to use your time to do homework or be on your phone during your shift. 

Q: Do I get a discount at Beans 2 Brew since I am a volunteer? 

• Yes, all volunteers get a discount of $1.25 off of your total purchase during or immediately proceeding your shift. 

Q: What is the latest that I can change/remove myself from a shift I have already signed up to volunteer for?

• A: Please do NOT change shifts within 24 hours of your originally volunteered scheduled shift. If there is an emergency, and you are no longer able to volunteer, please try to find someone to cover by messaging the GroupMe or contact Mea as soon as possible.  

Q: What do I do if I need to leave the shop early?

• A: Please contact Mea in the event that you have to leave the shop early - if she does not respond, please reach out to the other Business Team members via email or GroupMe.

Q: What should I wear to a shift?

• A: Breathable, comfortable clothing and shoes that you won’t mind getting a bit of coffee on! (AKA, never wear white in the shop). Be mindful that you will likely be lifting, bending and moving during your volunteer shift - please dress accordingly.

Q: Should I let my friends behind the counter?

• A: Not unless they’re also actively volunteering with Beans 2 Brew!
