Three total credit hours are required. One credit hour is equal to 40 contact hours. These hours are typically taken in the last semester (spring) of the fourth year. However, certain situations can be approved to allow for an internship to occur in the summer or fall semesters prior to the last semester.

Students are permitted to complete their internships at any location of their choice, but must obtain approval from the Applied Exercise Physiology concentration coordinator before commencing. Any new site that has not had an App State Kinesiology Student previously will be required to complete a memorandum of understanding (MOU) before a student is permitted to start.

Onboarding requirements differ across internship sites and may include training, health documentation, and background checks. Some of these requirements may result in additional costs (e.g., background check).
