Cleveland women’s basketball encourages and supports multiple-sport athletes. Off-season opportunities are available, but optional, to all our student-athletes and organized by the women’s program independent of the financial support of PPS and the PIL. We strive to keep costs as affordable as possible and offer scholarships to those in need. Please reach out to Isaac Camacho (icamacho@pps.net) if you would like scholarship information or if you are interested in making a donation to our program.
Winter session is our main basketball season and officially begins November 17, 2025 and ends mid-March 2026. We participate in the Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) and play two additional tournaments in December. We have three teams: Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman (JV2).
Student athletes MUST be registered and cleared to participate before tryouts November 17th.
Registration for the 2025 - 2026 season is currently open. Athletes can register HERE.
A sports physical is required for registration and valid for two years from the date of signature.

Sports physicals can alternatively be completed at Multnomah County Student Health Centers or Cleveland Student Health Center.

There is a $200 fee ($60 reduced) associated with participation in PIL basketball. Fees will be requested AFTER tryouts and can be paid via school pay.

Participation in Cleveland women’s summer session is highly encouraged. Many club teams pause play to allow athletes to spend time with their high school squads and it’s a great time to bond with fellow CHS teammates.
Summer session runs Memorial Day - late June and offers:
High School practice sessions 3x’s per week - Varsity, JV and JV2
High School tournament play
Overnight Team Camp at the University of Portland (usually the last week of June, Sunday-Thursday)
High School strength program: workouts
Week-long youth camps, grades 3rd - 8th
