A few things to note prior to submitting your application: 

There are five sections, the last section consists of 4 short essay questions. It is recommended you work on the essay questions prior to submitting your application. The short essay questions are: 

1. What motivated you to apply to the Portland Dual Language Teacher Residency program? 

2. Describe any experience you have working and engaging with students particularly in an educational setting. (List any additional experiences, skills, interests, community activities, etc.).

3. What is the impact you hope to make in the lives of historically underserved students (immigrants, low income students, boys of color, etc.)?

4. Think about what makes an effective teacher. What dispositions do you have that will make you an effective teacher? Provide examples.
