Yes! School Counselors earn a masters degree (MA or MEd) in School Counseling in order to obtain their state-issued license.

How can students access the School Counselor?

Students are referred to see the counselor for numerous reasons and in a variety of ways, including self-referral, counselor request, teacher request, parent request, or admin request. 

Do School Counselor provide intensive and on-going counseling/therapy?

No, however they can provide referrals for outside services for children and families in need of more intensive support.
