OK my friends- here we are. Out of the building, but not out of time! As musicians, we can make the best of this situation in a few ways:
We have lots of time to practice, compose, research instruments and other musicians and even set up Skype lessons! Since I won't see you 5 days a week for rehearsals, which easily adds up to about 150 minutes per week of in-class playing time, let's find some ways to keep building skills, learning about music and musicians and even help you to move forward.
For Skype lessons with Mr. Barber, Mieke Bruggeman, Jeff Chilton and others, email me at cplank@pps.net and I will send contact info. Some teachers are offering free YouTube classes that you can play along with, and I will set up a separate section called Lesson Resources to help you find these great options!

Welcome!
This is my 19th year of teaching Band at Beaumont Middle School, we are winding up to a great start! The program includes six sections of Concert band and several jazz bands that meet before school. We learn about parade-style marching and even play a few rock tunes as a pep band for the Faculty vs 8th Grade basketball game. If you have a student in the band you are now included in "POPs" - Parents of Performers - who help to make this program possible at Beaumont for almost half of the student body.
Beaumont also marches every three years in the Junior Rose Festival Parade, and our next turn to perform in the rotation is June 2, 2021. Keep your fingers crossed...
Please check the Calendar often for upcoming events and information, as sometimes dates have to be changed. For more information about the band program, please contact Cynthia Plank.
