At the beginning of our process, we created a character/scene breakdown to utilize for costuming purposes. It shows of which scene different characters are in during the show, and lets us know how many pages they have in between costume changes.
Madeline Taylor, one of our 2nd year technical theatre students, created a rack inventory. This lists every costume piece a student has. After she created this inventory list, we printed them, cut them out seprately, and attached it to each cast members name tag on the rack. This allows our actors to know what pieces they have and helps aid our costumers in checking inventory each run of the show. We can easily identify what items might be missing.
Around December, our costume leads created a slideshow that shows the items cast members are responsible for bringing. We REQUIRE all of our cast to purchase modesty garments, shoes, and hair/makeup supplies (with the exceptions of wigs. We purchase wigs).
Our Make-up/Hair Lead, Samona Downs created a slideshow that gave the students specific instructions on what their characters' hair and make-up should look like. All students are required to apply their own make-up and hair looks (with the exception of characters with difficult to apply looks)
During the run of our show, each cast member has a designated space for them to change into and out of costumes. We assign 2-3 costume crew members to each room to assist the cast members in getting ready. These rooming assignments are posted on their changing room doors. It includes a QR for the costume repair form at the bottom, so that the actors always have access to it.
Sydney Sanders, one of our lead costumers created a costume repair form that all of the costume crew has access to. At the beginning of each rehearsal, they can view the responses and repair the costume. The cast can scan a QR on the rooming assignment door to request a repair of their costume.
