Saint Henry Elementary STEM

Thank you for visiting our SHES STEM site! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Within our STEM program we have two main components: Makerspace and Tech Lab. Throughout the year, we will engage in a variety of activities related to those STEM ideas. You can explore those projects using the tabs above for each grade level.

What is STEM?

Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Olivia McKibben, and I will be teaching STEM/Innovative Technology at Saint Henry Elementary School. After graduating from SHHS in 2015, I attended the University of Cincinnati where I obtained a degree in Middle Childhood Education, specializing in math and science. During these four years, I was immersed in copious, incredibly valuable experiences that were truly instrumental in forming my educational philosophy and solidifying my career choice. These experiences included holding supplemental instructional sessions for groups of collegiate chemistry students, student teaching at multiple Cincinnati Public Schools, and teaching at a preparatory summer camp for local under-served Cincinnati students. After college, I began my first teaching job at Vandalia Butler, teaching fourth grade math and science. Two years later, I was offered an opportunity to move closer to my family and teach biology, environmental science, and zoology at Celina High School. The opportunity presented to me now, to build and create a STEM program for children in a community that I love, is nothing short of a dream come true. I will not take for granted the large responsibility in front of me and will work my hardest to help create a welcoming and challenging environment for your students to engage with.

Please never hesitate to reach out with any questions, suggestions, (or materials donations, ha!).
