Visits
If given the opportunity students should try to attend some live sporting events. Within London there are many sporting teams who host games, whilst there is also the opportunity to attend one off annual events like Wimbledon, the anniversary games, the NBA, the NFL and the Rugby Sevens.
Participation and Active Involvement
It is strongly advised that students actively participate in a range of sports, but most importantly compete in and outside of school in their preferred sport. Students looking to represent a local external club for the first time should contact the PE department to see if we can support you with this.
Reading
Additional reading surrounding topical sporting issues is greatly beneficial as it helps students’ level of comprehension and literacy, whilst also developing their knowledge and understanding.
The BBC sports website is worth a daily visit.
Reading the Times, Guardian, and Independent (either online or broadsheet) will provide you with good coverage of the current sporting affairs.
