Year 9 Gateway year

In Year 9, students study the Russian Revolution, the Second World War and the Holocaust. This topic is taught in a way which ensures that we have a broad curriculum offering whilst still preparing our students for the skills that they will need in both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. This content will not be assessed in the final GCSE exams. Students will be assessed in the way that they were assessed throughout Years 7 and 8 and will receive a summary of their progress in relation to the four pathways that we use here at St James': Foundation; Developing; Secure; Excellence.
