Students refine the skills and concepts developed in Years 7 and 8 throughout Years 9 to 11. Year 9 provides a gateway to GCSE in that we teach skills required at this level without reducing the breadth of historical content a student learns as the skills are applied to historical periods that might ordinarily not be taught. Our GCSE course consists of four units: Henry VIII and his Ministers; Weimar and Nazi Germany; Super power relations and the Cold War; Medicine through time. Key Stage 4 students are taught in mixed ability classes and are supported by effective differentiation to support and challenge learners of all abilities.
