A Master Teacher goes ABOVE and BEYOND what all skilled, strong teachers do.

Yes.Partner up for support. Each applicant develops a portfolio but having someone to review and discuss ideas is helpful.
Just having submitted a piece of evidence is not good enough.

Having 2 pieces of evidence per criterion helps strengthen the criteria requirements.
Clearly label evidence and refer to the label in the narrative.
OTES is NOT necessarily the best form of evidence.
An email will be sent once you submit your portfolio.
If electronic submission - save the form submission receipt
If hand delivered - An email will be sent confirming it has been received.
The goal is for the Master Teacher Committee to evaluate the portfolios by the end of March/Early April. The Committee Chair will keep you apprised as much as possible.
You will be contacted via email on your portfolio.
Once you have MET the Master Teacher requirements, your Superintendent and Curriculum Director will be sent a letter from SCESC stating you have been designated a Master Teacher
Only YOU will be notified if you did NOT MET the Master Teacher requirements.
Once you have MET the Master Teacher requirements, you will receive a Verification form the SCESC Master Teacher Committee. It is you responsibility to submit the form to the state to earn a Senior Professional Educator License.

Yes, you can renew 1 yr prior to expiration.
You would need to wait unit the following year to re-apply.
