Non-academic resources to support English Learners and their Families 

Ohio Department of Education defines vulnerable youth as, "students who often encounter challenges in receiving a quality and equitable education. Vulnerable youth may face many barriers, including traumatization, high mobility, and undiagnosed behavioral and health conditions." 

This includes the following populations:

1. Students with disabilities

2. English Learners

3. Foster Care

4. Migrant Education

5. Homeless Students

6. Justice Involved

7. Military

8. LGBTQ+

The Stark County ESC is a participant in The Ohio State University Family Engagement Center's Family & Community Liaison Partnership Project.  The goal of this project is to increase district capacity to serve our most vulnerable populations.
