With a year of art exploration under their belts, the first graders jump into art, building upon the discoveries they have made already. We continue experimenting with primary and secondary colors, warm and cool colors, we even start to talk about analogous and complementary colors. We really dig into lines and shapes, and identify the differences between geometric and organic shapes. We handle printmaking tools and practice the process of printing. We work clay, we pinch pots, we roll out slabs.
