1 - Do you like working as a teacher?
Love it.
2 - How long have you been working as a teacher?
Since 1993.
3 - Which other schools have you taught?
Christ Church, Grimsdyke, Camrose Primary, ST Mary’s and Roe Green Junior.
4 - What other place would you like to teach in?
Africa, New Zealand and Gambia.
5 - What is your favourite subject in school?
Art.
6 - Which was your favourite school trip?
National Art Gallery.
7 - What was the best lesson you have ever had?
Art, Music, DT, PE and Dance.
8 - What is the best feeling you have ever had in school?
Jubilation.
9 - How do you deal with an irritating child?
Give them a glare, stare, pursed lips and ask them to explain.
10 - What is your favourite school meal?
Roast potato, chicken, yorkshire pudding and vegetables.
11 - What is your favourite school dessert in school?
Yoghurt.
12 - What do you do in your free time?
Walking, gardening, reading and special events.

1 - Why did you choose to work as a teacher?
I’ve always liked working with children and find it nice.
2 - Do you like to work as a teacher?
Yes, I enjoy working as a teacher a lot.
3 - Where did you work before you were a teacher?
I used to work at NEXT the retail store and I was the manager there.
4 - If you weren’t a teacher what would you work as?
I’d probably be working at a bank or have my own nursery.
5 - What’s your favourite part of being a teacher?
My favourite part of being a teacher is helping children and being a part of the team.
6 - What part of teaching you don't enjoy?
The paperwork is annoying and frustrating.
7 - Which year group do you prefer to work in?
Year 5, because they are more mature than when they were in year 4 and 3.
8 - For how long have you been a teacher?
I have been a teacher for more than 15 years.
9 - If you could work at a high school would you and why?
No, because I wouldn't like working with teenagers.
10 - Do you prefer your old job or your teaching job more?
I prefer my current teaching job more.
Mrs Dodhia (Year 6 Class Teacher) by Donya 6J
1 - How many years have you been here at RGJS?
Since 1996.
2 - Before you were a teacher, what role did you have?
I was in public relations for an oil company and a TV station.
3 - What's the best thing about being a teacher?
I love how everything is different, that I'm always learning new stuff along with my students and I love laughing with the children.
4 - What's the most stressful thing about being a teacher?
There are very long days, the marking, and having enough energy to give the best ways to help the children.
5 - Why did you choose to be a teacher?
I wanted to do something that I could enjoy for a long period of time and I also love helping children.
6 - If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be?
When I was little I always wanted to be a lawyer.
7 - How would you solve a big problem?
I would look at each part of the story, then ask other people if they saw anything, hear their side of the story and then bring them together.
8 - What is the biggest highlight, so far, in your career?
When 50 different people with different jobs came and talked about their jobs and how they got to the point where they were in year 6.
9 - Why is it rewarding to work at RGJS?
It is rewarding because I work with fantastic people and I love watching children to become successful adults.
10 - Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Still teaching, but also enjoying my time in a hot country.
11 - Has anything changed since last year?
Nothing has really changed since last year.
12 - Would you rather stay in a library all day or teach 6J?
It would be lovely to stay in a library all day and I would prefer that, but I also do love teaching 6J.
13 - What got you interested in teaching?
My mum actually suggested it to me.
14 - What do you like most about your class?
They are all very different people and they are all kind but also funny in different ways.
15 - What has been your most challenging thing about your job?
Not having enough energy to give the best to the children.
16 - What three words describe you best?
Fun, caring and helpful.
17 - What subject do you like to teach?
I love teaching every single subject.
18 - What year group do you like to teach?
Year 6.
19 - What do you like best about RGJS?
I love the people I work with, all of the children and that I'm allowed to teach the way I want.
20 - Finally, what message do you have for the children at RGJS to help them be the best they can be?
Read as many books as you can, go out and have fresh air, go to as many museums and art galleries as you can and have as much fun as you can.

1 - What is your favourite subject to teach?
Art and Maths.
2 - How many years have you taught at Roe Green?
This is my 7th year.
3 - Who is your favourite staff member?
Ms McLeod, because the rest of my favourites have left the school.
4 - Have you taught any other year groups apart from year 3?
Yes, year 4.
5 - Were you ever willing to become a teacher when you were young?
Yes, because I like working with children.
6 - Do you enjoy teaching at Roe Green Junior and why?
Yes, because it is very relaxed and everyone is friendly with each other.
7 - What maths set do you most like to teach?
Set 1, because most of them already know the answers and I don't have to repeat myself.
8 - How do you like being in charge of the school council team?
Good because I get to spend time with children from my previous classes.
9 - Did you have a job before you were a teacher?
Yes, I was a children's short breaks worker - take children on trips in London.
10 - What has been the highlight of your job?
The highlight of working in RGJS is meeting all of the teachers.
11 - Finally, what is your message to the children of RGJS?
Be calm and do not stress, because things happen when they are meant to.
Miss Khetani (Year 3 Class Teacher) by Navya 5G
1. What are your favourite subjects to teach?
My favourite subject to teach is Science, because it's full of fun experiments and new discoveries. I also enjoy teaching some History - it’s like uncovering stories from the past.
2 - Where is your favourite place to rest?
My favourite place to relax is definitely in my bed - It’s cosy and peaceful after a long day of teaching.
3 - How long have you been a teacher?
I’ve been a teacher for two years now. It’s been a wonderful experience.
4 - Why did you choose to work with children?
I find children really interesting to teach! You’re curious, enthusiastic, and always full of great questions. It makes my job exciting and fun.
5 - Which school did you teach at before Roe Green Junior School?
Before Roe Green Junior, I taught at a secondary school. It was a little different, but I enjoyed working with older students too.
6 - Do you enjoy being a teacher here at Roe Green Junior School? Why?
Yes, I really enjoy it. The teachers and students here are all so supportive. It feels like a big team, and we work together to make learning fun and enjoyable.
7 - Would you like to teach a year 4, 5 or 6 class?
I’d be happy to teach any of those year groups. Each class has its own unique energy, and I love working with different ages.

1 - What was your experience at RGJS News?
Fun, I liked writing articles and helping out.
2 - Would you recommend RGJS news to others who read this interview?
Yes, if they like writing.
3 - How has RGJS news influenced you?
It has influenced me to enjoy literacy and to participate in similar literacy clubs in high school.
4 - Do you think RGJS news should keep going on?
Yes, it would inspire younger children to enjoy literature and encourage them to become authors.
5 - What was your favourite part about RGJS news?
The articles.
6 - What was your favourite article that you have written?
The Brent Museum and Welsh Harp Trip.
7 - What was your favourite interview that you have written?
Mr Best had good answers.
8 - What is one thing you would change about RGJS news?
There isn't much to change, as it is perfect already.
9 - Would you like to have RGJS news if you could at KHS (Kingsbury High School)?
Yes, because instead of negative stays after school, it could be positive.
10 - What was your impression of RGJS news, and how did you change once you had settled in?
I changed by starting to write more books.

An interview with an ambassador - Alexandra 6G 6R
1 - How did you feel when your name was called out by Miss Loosemore?
I felt really happy because I’ve always wanted to be an ambassador from when I first heard about it.
2 - Did you think you were going to get the ambassador position?
Yes, because I felt confident and everyone was saying I would get the role.
3 - Do you like being an ambassador?
No, because I always have to leave break time early and it takes very long to do the duties.
4 - Would you change anything in the ambassador role?
Yes, I would change that we can have early lunch even when we don’t have to do playground duties.
5 - Do you like working with the other ambassadors?
Yes, because some of them are my friends and I can co - operate with them all.
6 - Do you think you are a good role model?
Yes, but sometimes I might get carried away by an accident.
7 - Did you want to be an ambassador?
Yes, because in year 5 I was really inspired by them and thought their job was very cool.
