A private school is a school not administered or funded by the government, unlike a public school. They are also known as independent schools, non-governmental, privately funded, or non-state schools. They are usually funded by fees charged at their students 

1) Each college will send you emails as soon as you apply. Check these emails frequently and read them carefully for any and all follow up steps. 

2) Most colleges will give you log on information to open a portal with their college. Open these as soon as they are available. If you do not receive log on information within a few weeks of applying, call that admissions office and find out exactly what you need to do. 

3) Once you have a portal, find the To Do List for that university and keep checking often for new items that may pop up. Failure to complete an item on the To Do List before the stated deadline often nullifies your application. 

4) Often, the only notification you will receive as to being accepted or denied admission, is only available in the portal itself.
