Additionally, I have supplemental writing curriculum that over the years I have seen as an incredibly powerful tool engaging and empowering young writers.
Math Expressions is a comprehensive K-6 curriculum that offers new ways to teach and learn the rigorous mathematics in the Common Core State Standards. By combining the most powerful elements of standards-based mathematics with the best of traditional approaches, Math Expressions emphasizes in-depth mathematics through real world problem situations, modeling, conceptual language and Math Talk to help students build mathematical ideas that make sense to them. In our classroom, students invent, question, model, represent, and explore, but also learn and practice important math strategies. Through daily Math Talk, students explain their methods and, in turn, become more fluent in them.
Additionally, we are fortunate enough to have access to IXL math, too!

In addition to the TCI curriculum, we supplementally utilize the Mystery Doug/Mystery Science curriculum that aligns beautifully with TCI.
In addition, we teach from the Since Time Immemorial curriculum. This is a curriculum focused on Tribal Sovereignty in Washington State.
And finally, SEL (social emotional learning) falls under the umbrella of Social Studies. For this, our district uses the Second Step curriculum. We do in-class lessons and watch online lessons done by a previous counselor we had here at Wellington. In addition to that, Class Dojo has a number of scenarios that we go through, and I personally number of other SEL resources/books I turn to when teaching kids.
