Greetings Wolverines!
We are very pleased to share this unique virtual experience with our Wellington community! Due to our building closure, we were unable to provide in-person tours to our incoming families as we would in a typical year. We couldn't let that stop us from sharing this experience with our families, so a number of Wolverines put on their probelm-solving hats and created Wellington in the Minecraft universe! 4th/5th grade teacher, Ms. Jackie Berg, along with the help of some of our innovative 5th graders (Emerson, Taylor, Violet, Rose, Anna and Mikayla) worked to re-create much of our school in Minecraft form. Now, new and existing Wolverines can follow the steps below and explore our school online!
If you've NEVER jumped into Minecraft before, that's ok. You are just going in to view the world and not interact at all. To move your person around, you will use the keys W & S (forwards and backwards), as well as your mouse to orient you! You HAVE to download the Education Version of Minecraft in order to view it, it is 100% free for staff/students, as Northshore has a contract with them.
Mac & PC Users: Independently go to: https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download and download the software.
Chromebook Users: Minecraft does not work on Chromebooks, YET (Beta coming out in the next few weeks).
Once you have the software downloaded and installed on your computer, then you'll download the Wellington Minecraft World by clicking the button below. Next, you'll click the download icon in the top right corner of your screen. Open Minecraft and sign in using your NSD credentials (@apps for students and without the @apps for staff). You'll then click "Play." Once there, click "Import" and then find and choose the Wellington Minecraft World you've downloaded. Then you'll click, "View My Worlds" and then click on the one labeled "Wellington." ENJOY
