1. Plug in the Chromebook, open the lid, and wait for it to wake up. Sometimes it can take a few seconds to wake and load the home screen. If nothing happens after 10 seconds, press the power button for a count of 5. The power button is located on the upper right of keyboard, or on the right edge, depending on Chromebook model. If the power button does not initially turn on your Chromebook, leave it charging for a while to make sure it's sufficiently charged, then try again.

2. Ensure your Chromebook is connected to the internet. You will not be able to sign in unless you are online. Click Add other WiFi network to connect to your home network.

3. The login screen will look like the image on the right. To sign in using your student ID number and password, click Enter Google Account info. (If you want to sign in using a Clever badge, hold your badge up to the camera.)

4. After clicking Enter Google Account info, you will be asked to enter your email address. Notice in the sign-in box, on the far right, the email domain address "@apps.nsd.org" is already populated. This allows students to enter only their 7-digit student ID number at this step. Click Next after entering your student ID number to advance to the password screen.

5. Enter your NSD password. If you don't know your password, ask your teacher or your school's STS for help.

You will then be automatically signed into your student Clever Portal. From here, students can navigate to all of their class resources, including Schoology, Seesaw, and i-Ready. For more information on Clever, see the Online Learning Resources page.
