Zoology

This elective course explores the natural history of animals and their behavioral, ecological, and physiological adaptations - with special attention to Pacific Northwest species. Specific attention is given to human activity and the resulting impact on global ecosystems. These impacts will be directly related to animal survival. In addition, students will conduct independent research utilizing observation skills. A field trip to engage students in observational research will also be included. Class periods will also take advantage of the wetlands located on the NCHS campus for exploration and further education to the natural history of animals.

Semester course for a half credit of Science

Prerequisite: Either Biology, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, OR Biotechnology - only one is needed.
