THIRD Grade Curriculum Night 2019-20
Curriculum Night 2018-2019

2019-2020 Homework Routines and Due Dates

Monday through Thursday Nightly Homework:

one page, both sides, often math homework, due on the next school day, AND choice reading (see weekly homework)

Weekly Homework:

read a book of choice, average of 100 minutes weekly, or 20 minutes per night, AND finish the log, both sides (due Monday)

later in the year: practice spelling words and finish one page, both sides, of spelling and handwriting practice

Weekend Homework: finish work, including reading log, both sides - nothing additional is sent home, except for optional practice

  • Planners and Go Home folders should go home and come back to school each day.
  • The reading log should go home and come back to school each day.
  • Homework is considered late if not turned in on the day it is due.
  • I do accept late work, but if students have not turned in an assignment after several days have passed, they may need to stay in during recess to do/finish the work, even if it is finished but left at home.
  • Students who are absent have one additional day to turn in homework for every day they are absent. Students who are absent should make up missed classwork as soon as possible, and will be given compacted instruction as needed. Students who need to finish work or who were absent for an extended time may need to make up work at recess, or work might be sent home. This varies depending on what was missed, as some activities cannot be made up outside of school.
