I am very excited to begin my first year of teaching Elementary Music. I am a recent graduate from Central Washington University, where I studied Music Education and Teaching English as a Second Language. I student taught in the district at Westhill Elementary teaching K-5 music, including 2 special education music classes.
I am currently the overload music teacher at Hollywood Hills and East Ridge Elementary, where I teach music grades 1-4.
Where I studied:
Central Washington University, Bachelor's of Music Education. Minor in Teaching English as a Second Language.
High school: Inglemoor High School (Northshore School District)
My hobbies:
Outside of the classroom, I love to hike around the Pacific Northwest and explore the greater Seattle area. I spend a lot of my weekends exploring Greenlake and petting every dog that will let me. I love writing music and singing in operas and musicals.
My philosophy of education is that every child deserves the right to learn in a safe environment where their minds are stimulated. I believe that each child is unique and deserves a quality education tailored to their specific needs. My role as a teacher is to provide mental stimulation through hands on activities and appropriate assessments. In my classroom, every child has a voice to be heard with respect and care.
