School Counselor - Crystal Springs Elementary
How can an elementary school counselor help my student?
As the school counselor, I am a member of the educational team here at Crystal Springs - I'm an educator! I'm passionate about teaching students social-emotional skills and concepts that will help them throughout life. I teach in various settings and formats, including classroom lessons, small group instruction, and individual supports.
Here are some of the topics I discuss with students:
- Social Skills
- Emotional Regulation (Controlling big emotions)
- Coping & Resiliency Skills
- Changing Families
- Self Concept (Self-esteem)
*DISCLAIMER: School counseling support is not a substitute for students who need more intensive counseling or therapy. If needed, I am happy to talk with parents about the process of finding a mental health provider outside of school. Once this is set-up, I can also serve as a connection point between the school and the outside provider.
