The most active part of our year starts with an exciting kick-off in September, but the fun never ends! Our team is active year round with skill building and outreach. Here's the main seasons:
BUILD SEASON: The 6-week build season starts immediately after kick off in September.
COMPETITION SEASON: Begins in October when robots compete on an alliance against two other teams to earn ranking points. These three qualifying matches are at local high schools on one weekend day.
STATE/REGIONAL: As teams advance, they can go to invitationals, semi-finals, and the state championship in Dec-Jan-Feb-March. These matches are within an hour's drive and we carpool.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: For the few teams that advance beyond state, they advance to the World Championship in Houston, Texas, in late April.
FTC is a thrilling and demanding sport. We take a break after our last competition before we focus on our skill building and outreach season.
Team meeting times can vary in frequency throughout the year. Members vote on meeting dates to communicate their availability. We use Microsoft Teams for Mentor to Member communication. They are required to check the app daily for announcements and votes.
During the build season, the technical team meets 3-4 times a week. Other members join as tasks require.
During the competition season, weekend travel is required for the entire team.
During the outreach season, that subteam meets 2 to 3 times weekly, sometimes online.
Note: Club does NOT meet when school cancels due to weather or local emergency.
The Robotic Conspiracy team is gearing up for the 2026-27 season called BIOBUZZ.
Meeting times, event dates, and the latest updates are made available to youth members via our private Microsoft Teams site.
