Canyon Creek Library
Welcome to the Canyon Creek Library!
The Canyon Creek library is home to approximately 700 "Coyote Readers." Students have scheduled library times weekly as well as individual access Wednesday and Thursday before school. Books are checked out for two weeks at a time and can be renewed. The library collection is funded through district-allocated budget and the school book fair. The program is run by two certificated teacher-librarians, who have their teaching and library degrees, as well as a group of dedicated parent volunteers!
How do I pay for a lost book?
Students should let the librarian know they have lost their book and need to pay for it. The book is marked lost in the library system and the student will be notified of what the replacement cost of the book is. Payment for the exact amount in cash or check is to be turned into the office (the library can not handle payments).
How can I put a book on hold?
A book can only be placed on hold if it is currently checked out. To place a hold, fill out a pink hold request slip (at checkout counter, in the basket with bookmarks) with the date, your name, and the title of the book. Place the completed slip in the basket next to the checkout computer.
How many books can I check out at a time?
Kindergarten = 1 book
1st Grade = 2 books
2nd Grade = 3 books
3rd Grade = 4 books
4th Grade = 5 books
5th Grade = 5 books
How long can I keep a book?
Books are checked out for two weeks at a time. A book can be renewed for an additional two weeks as long as someone else doesn't have the book on hold.
Can I use the library computers?
The library computers are to be used for online catalog searches or teacher assigned research and projects.
Can I print from the library computers?
Permission must be given by the library staff and the item(s) being printed must be a class or library-related project.
Can I bring food or drinks into the library?
We ask that no food or drinks be brought into the library for the safety of all of the books, resources, and computers.
