How the Class Works 

Weekly Modules/Learning Units: The class is organized in weekly Unit Modules that begin (and end) on Tuesdays. Each Tuesday, a new Module posts in Canvas with all of the material, announcements, and assignments for the week/chapter. Within each Module, there are typically two assignments with the same deadline: 11:59 pm Monday. One assignment will be a Reading Log (every week), and the other is a Unit assignment that varies by topic and will require application of the week's material. This structure will be the same every week making it predictable routine for students and everything you need to complete the work will be posted within the Unit's module. 

You can click through each module sequentially for easy navigation. Please ask if something is unclear or confusing. 

Life Happens Policy: Every assignment in this class has a deadline. 

Plan on getting your weekly work done on time. When you simply cannot, there is no penalty for late assignments in the weekly modules. To submit work after the deadline, simply go to the original assignment and turn it in. No apology or explanation needed--life happens! Please do not message me asking for an extension or permission to turn something in late. This is unnecessary. However, if you need additional support to get through life's happenings, please reach out. Early and often is the key to communication in this course. Do not skip this course for a long period of time and expect to stay enrolled or get caught up. 

Pit Stop and Finish Line Deadlines: Some assignments have a 'hard deadline,' which must be turned in on time. They will be noted at time of posting. Additionally, there are 2 scheduled Hard Deadlines in this class. The first is the Pit Stop deadline, the deadline for all work assigned in the first half of the semester, which is the Friday of Week 9. The second is the Finish Line deadline for all work assigned after the mid point, which is the Friday before Finals Week. These dates will be announced in Canvas as they approach. Work turned in on these deadlines cannot be resubmitted for improved grade. 

🛑 It is incredibly important to stay up to date in this class, regardles of its flexible policies. Getting behind can be very detrimental and should only be considered when unavoidable. Do not let the course's flexibility cause you to underestimate its rigorous requirements. Every assignment in this class has a deadline. 

📝  PLEASE NOTE: When you turn work in after the deadline, you will not receive individual feedback on that work. This can compromise your ability to learn and develop as a student as the semester progresses. Late work also goes to the back of the grading line, respectively.
