Info for Presenters
Thank you for registering to present a paper, poster, or map at the 2024 CGS conference at Shasta Colelge! We have a fantastic line-up of talks this year and appreciate your willingness to share your work with the CGS community! Please see the conference schedule to determine the specific time and room for your presentation. If you are presenting a map or poster, please be at the Shasta College Cafeteria by 10:30am to set up. All posters and maps will be displayed in the Cafeteria from 11:00am - 1:00pm.
Paper Presentations:
All paper presentations have 15 minutes from the time listed on the Saturday planner with an additional 5 minutes "buffer" time for questions and to allow the next presenter to set up their PowerPoint.
Desktop computers and projectors are provided by CGS and can run PowerPoint and PDF presentations. Please bring a backup PDF version of your presentation on a usb drive just in case there are issues with your original file.
If possible, visit the classroom you're scheduled to present in at 8:30am to download your files directly onto our computers. This will allow time for any issues with your files to be resolved before your presentation is about to begin.
You are welcome to bring your own laptop if you'd like. Our projectors have VGA, HDMI, and aux connection capabilities. If you have a Mac or tablet, be sure you have a compatible connector with you.
Student Presenters: please read the CGS Awards information website for more information about the judging criteria.

We will be displaying posters/maps using a combination of easels and walls. We may use masking tape to attach them to the walls of the cafeteria. If this is a problem, please bring a poster board large enough to display your poster so that we can place it on one of the easels.
Student Presenters: you will be given 3-5 minutes to present your poster to the poster judges between 10:30am and 12:00pm. Please remain in the map room until judging is complete. See the CGS Awards information website for more information about the judging criteria.
