ARC is committed to providing excellent student services in support of learning for all of its students. In order to ensure the effectiveness of its student support programs, since 2008, each Student Support Unit at the college has participated in a regular and systematic process of assessment, review, planning, and implementation. The support and oversight for this effort is provided by the SLOAC, in coordination with the administration in student services (e.g., Vice President of Student Services, Dean of Student Services, etc.) In performing this important function, the SLOAC maintains that these assessments are an on-going and integral part of the day to day activities inherent in providing the student services for each student service group. As such, a record of the on-going efforts is an integral part of the assessment process.
Assessment data for each unit is collected by the unit and is reported on the Student Services Outcomes Assessment Report (SSOAR). The assessment data is collated and presented to the SLOAC in order to ensure that the process has been followed completely and in a timely manner. The aggregated results are then reviewed annually as part of Annual Unit Planning (beginning in 2019-2020), in which the results serve as the basis for actions and, if applicable, resource allocation, and are aligned with college goals and objectives.
