If students come to school and report any COVID-19 symptoms from the screening tool, the student will be removed from their classroom and taken to an alternative location and supervised by staff. You may hear this alternative location called the isolation room. Families will be contacted for immediate pick up.
You will be told the following by office staff that call you:
Your child is not feeling well and is displaying COVID-19 symptoms (we will share specific details about your child)
You will need to make arrangements for yourself or an emergency contact to pick up your child immediately from school
Your symptomatic student cannot come to school and you must do one of the following next steps:
Parent should seek testing for the child OR contact a health care provider for further advice or assessment.
All household members of the symptomatic individual who are not fully vaccinated must isolate until the symptomatic individual receives a negative test results or alternate diagnosis from a health care provider. Household members who are fully vaccinated do not need to isolate unless they develop symptoms.
Return to school with a negative test result OR alternative diagnosis AND
child does not have a fever (without medication) AND
it has been 24 hours since their symptoms started improving (48 hours for gastrointestinal symptoms)
They were not in close physical contact with someone who currently has COVID-19
If testing is recommended and a student is not tested, the individual must isolate for 10 days from symptom onset (even if vaccinated) AND until
they do not have a fever (without using medication) AND
they feel well enough to attend AND
it has been 24 hours since their symptoms started improving (48 hours for gastrointestinal symptoms).
