Elementary Drop Off/Pick Up Routines
Families using vehicles to drop elementary students off or pick them up should use the "kiss and drop" zone on the west side of the school ("Sunny Side"). Parents/Guardians are asked to use only the parking spaces provided (if needed) to buckle/unbuckle small children and then have them walk on the yellow path to their respective entrance.
Parents/Guardians are also asked to be mindful and respectful of the intention of the drop off zone. This is not an area to remain parked for prolonged periods, as it holds up the dropoff process, which can lead to impatience for some, which creates safety risks for your children.
Families are also reminded that the area along the fence is posted as a no parking zone. For the safety of your children, it is critical that this respected.
Families who are walking to drop off/pick up elementary students, will also use the west entrance to allow students to enter through their appropriate door.
** Please note that the front bus loop is deemed a "buses only" zone during arrival and dismissal times. Cars should not enter this area during these times. **
Secondary Entry Routines
When students arrive at the school they should enter through the main doors (or the back door if entering from the rear parking area) and proceed to their lockers to gather materials for first period. Students are reminded that they need to be at their first period class and ready to begin learning when the 8:15 bell signals the start of the first learning period. The 8:10 warning bell is the signal for students to begin making their way to class. Class will begin promptly at 8:15.
Late Arrival
Late students (in both panels) should enter via the main doors at the front of the school, and report in at the main office to get a late slip.
Changes to End of Day Routine & Early Pick Up
Any changes to the end of the day routine for your child must be communicated to the main office via phone call by 2:00 at the latest. We will not be able to accommodate any requests for changes after this time (2:00 p.m.).
We value the importance of each and every minute during the school day, but we recognize that, on occasion, students may need to be picked up early due to appointments, etc. In cases where this is required, we ask that parents arrive at the school prior to 2:00 to sign out their children. Given the size of our student population, we will be unable to accommodate early pick up during the last half hour of the day (i.e., between 2:00-2:30 p.m.).
While we understand that this may not always be convenient, it is critical in order for us to be able to ensure the safety of every child throughout the dismissal process, as we need this time to deliver all important messages regarding dismissal instructions to classrooms, to ensure that students get where they need to be each day.
