Tubman helps people of all ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds who have experienced relationship violence, sexual exploitation, homelessness, mental and chemical health challenges, and other trauma.

Throughout the Twin Cities, Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, mental and chemical health counseling, youth programming, and community education, including public information campaigns to provide community members with the information and support they need to get help or give help.


Asian Women United of Minnesota is a safe place for all women and their children dealing with domestic violence, including physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse. They operate a domestic violence 24-hour emergency shelter, provide support and care for victims of domestic violence, provide legal and financial advocacy, operate a 24-hour multilingual helpline at 612-724-8823, provide immigration advocacy and assistance, and raise awareness in the community about domestic violence.

Esperanza United mobilizes Latinas and Latin@ communities to end gender-based violence. They provide bilingual support, safety, and education for families and individuals experiencing domestic abuse. They also operate a 24-hr bilingual domestic violence helpline at 651-772-1611 (for Minnesota residents).

Cornerstone serves victims and survivors of domestic abuse, general crime, human trafficking, and sexual violence. Cornerstone operates a crisis line and a crime victim support line, as well as an emergency shelter. They also offer individual advocacy, support groups, help with finances, housing, finding a job, legal advocacy, and therapy for adults and children.

Domestic Abuse Project provides legal advocacy, referrals for help with meeting basic needs, and counseling services for victims of family violence and their families. They also offer Intervention and Prevention Group Therapy for adults who have used or are currently using violence in an intimate relationship, including an offshoot program for military service members and veterans.

Standpoint is an organization of attorneys and advocates fighting against domestic and sexual violence. Their experienced lawyers and advocates provide support, training, over-the-phone advocacy, and legal advice: free of charge, regardless of income, for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

StrongHearts Native Helpline (1-844-762-8483) is a 24/7 confidential and anonymous culturally-appropriate domestic, dating, and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans. StrongHearts advocates offer the following services at no cost: peer support and advocacy, information and education about domestic violence and sexual violence, personalized safety planning, crisis intervention, referrals to Native-centered domestic violence and sexual violence service providers, basic information about health options, support finding a local health facility or crisis center that is trained to care for survivors of sexual assault and offers services like sexual assault forensic exams, and general information about jurisdiction and legal advocacy referrals.
