Grades are noted in PowerSchool in two categories: Classwork & Assessments.
If an assignment is missing, it will be marked as a zero and missing until it is turned in.
If an assignment is missing due to an absence, it will be marked as a zero, missing, and absent until the assignment is turned in. Students have twice as many days to complete an assignment due to an absence for full credit.
Completed classwork/homework are due in the tray at the beginning of the hour.
Late work will be accepted during the unit in which it was assigned. Units typically last two to four weeks. However, you will only receive partial credit for quality work. Assignments that are more than three days late will receive no more than a 65%.
Rushed/incomplete assignments, that are late, will receive less than a 65% score.
PLEASE turn in assignments even if it is late because, in the end, some points are better than none.
Corrections are allowed on assessments ONLY, for half credit.

Homework will be an extension of what is being learned and read in class. It will likely be to read chapters from the novels studied in class or to continue practicing the skills learned in class to further reinforce them.
**I do not assign homework often.
