Meet Your Bruin AT

Kirsten D. Harvey, MEd, LAT, ATC

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (the study of bodily movement) with a Major in Athletic Medicine from Washington State University in December of 2000 Kirsten joined the staff at Cascade High School as the Athletic Trainer (AT). During her 21.5 years at Cascade High she has enjoyed working with all of the athletic teams at CHS, covering Football, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, and Baseball playoffs at the League and Regional level, various local area soccer and basketball camps and tournaments, WWE Raw, Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships with USA Gymnastics, and the Kellogg's Tour of Champions with the gold medal US Olympic Gymnastics team in the fall of 2016.

In addition to providing medical coverage for the athletes of CHS, Kirsten has enjoyed teaching Sports Medicine and Health at Cascade HS, Jackson HS, and Everett HS since 2005. She is also passionate about mentoring student interns in the Athletic Training Clinic to expose them to hands on medical practice while guiding future educational and career goals.

Kirsten cares deeply about helping each and every one of her athletes by working to prevent, properly diagnose, heal, recover, and return to play from injuries and illnesses- including but not limited to sprains, strains, concussions, internal injuries, spinal injuries, contusions, eating disorders, proper nutrition, diabetes, asthma, cardiac ailments, and the mental and emotional strain of injury and performance.

In her private time she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, crocheting and knitting, attending Sounders, Seahawk, and Mariners games, and spending time with family and friends.
